Why This Conversation Matters

Retirement Changes More Than a Schedule

Many people prepare carefully for retirement financially and are surprised by how disorienting the transition can feel emotionally and socially.

Work often provides identity, structure, relationships, contribution, and a built-in rhythm. When those disappear at once, even a well-funded retirement can feel uncertain.

Designing Retirement on Purpose helps participants think beyond the retirement date and begin designing the life they want to live afterward.

About the Talk

Optimistic, Practical, and Reassuring

Designing Retirement on Purpose is a 45–60 minute interactive talk that helps retirees and near-retirees think differently about identity, structure, connection, learning, and contribution.

The presentation is designed to spark reflection without overwhelming participants. It combines practical examples, guided questions, and Arthur’s Five Ps™ Framework.

No one is asked to overshare. Participants can reflect privately, take notes, and choose the ideas that feel most relevant to their own lives.
