Designing Retirement on Purpose

A thoughtful, engaging talk on the life side of retirement — not the financial side.
In 20–30 minutes, we’ll clarify what you want and choose the best-fit program.

About the Talk

Many people prepare carefully for retirement — financially — and are surprised by how disorienting the transition can feel emotionally and socially.

Designing Retirement on Purpose is a 45–60 minute interactive talk that helps retirees and near-retirees think differently about identity, structure, connection, and learning in this next chapter of life.

The tone is optimistic, practical, and reassuring — designed to spark reflection, not overwhelm.

The 5 Ps Framework

The talk is built around five simple design elements for a fulfilling retirement:

Purpose — what matters now

People — connection by design

Pace — energy, health, and rhythm

Play — learning, mastery, and avocations

Projects — optional contribution and legacy

Participants leave with a clear framework they can use immediately — without needing to “figure everything out.”

About Arthur

Arthur Schwartz is a certified professional coach and is semi-retired himself. He created this talk after navigating his own transition out of full-time work and seeing how often people feel unprepared for the *life* side of retirement — even when they’ve planned well financially.

Today, Arthur works part-time with individuals and small groups who want to design retirement intentionally — with structure, meaning, and active engagement.
