My Professional Journey

From Executive Leadership
to Life Design

For more than 35 years, I’ve helped professionals and organizations navigate change, develop stronger leaders, and build high-performing teams.

As an independent executive coach and leadership facilitator, I spent 18 years partnering with global technology companies—including Cisco—coaching leaders and delivering leadership development programs for teams around the world.

Those experiences reinforced a truth that stayed with me: while organizations invest heavily in helping people succeed at work, very few prepare them for one of life’s biggest transitions—retirement.

That’s why I developed the Five Ps™ Framework—to help successful professionals create a retirement that’s every bit as rewarding as the career they built.

My Personal Journey

Why This Work Became Personal

When I retired, I discovered something that many successful professionals eventually experience.

Financially, I was prepared. Emotionally and personally, retirement asked a different set of questions.

Who am I without my career? How do I create purpose and structure now that no one else is setting my priorities? What relationships do I want to deepen? What passions have I postponed?

Those weren’t theoretical questions—they became my own journey. As I explored those answers, I realized the same principles that help leaders thrive during career transitions can also help people thrive in retirement.

That realization became the foundation for the Five Ps™ Framework: Purpose, People, Passion, Projects, and Pace.

Beyond the Office

A Life of Purpose and Adventure

Outside of coaching, you’ll find me on the water with my outrigger canoe team, exploring in our RV, hiking new trails, staying active, and spending time with my wife, Claudia, and our family.

These experiences keep me grounded and inspired. They also remind me every day that life after work can be an active, connected, and deeply meaningful chapter.
